As the nights draw in we are all on the lookout for a cocktail to perk those dark evenings up and we think there is no better go to cocktail than the Espresso Martini.
The classic cocktail is a sumptuous mix of vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso. It’s rich, indulgent and creamy taste makes it the perfect sweet treat and the added bonus of an espresso shot ensures that your party spirit is kept alive!
Coffee and vodka simply shouldn’t be allowed to taste so good together but they do. The story goes that British bartending guru Dick Bradswell created the cocktail, originally named ‘The Vodka Espresso’ then the “pharmaceutical Stimulant”, in the late 80s following a now very famous female model rocking up to the bar and requesting something to both wake her up and [insert expletive here] her up. His solution was a combination of vodka, fresh espresso, coffee liqueur and sugar – thus a legendary cocktail was born.
